About Us
Sicklekan is a UK-based charitable organisation (reg. no: 1175144) dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by sickle cell disease and related blood conditions.
We exist to support, advocate, and advance care for individuals and families living with sickle cell—addressing both the immediate challenges they face and the long-term need for systemic change.
Our work spans practical assistance, healthcare advocacy, community education, and investment in research and innovation aimed at improving treatment outcomes and, ultimately, eradicating the disease from future generations.
Sicklekan delivers:
Direct support to patients and families, including guidance, crisis assistance, and access to help. Awareness and education programmes to reduce stigma, improve understanding, and promote early intervention.
Healthcare and infrastructure initiatives, including plans for specialist facilities and patient-centred services.
Research, technology, and development initiatives focused on advancing treatment and long-term solutions.
A dedicated helpline and referral pathways to ensure no one faces sickle cell alone.
At our core, Sicklekan is about equity in healthcare, dignity for patients, and sustainable impact—working with communities, professionals, and supporters to transform outcomes for those living with sickle cell disease.
